Ramallah: Presidential Spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh expressed approval of the US administration's apparent retreat from its earlier stance on displacing Palestinians from the Gaza Strip. "The US retreat from the idea of displacing the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip is an encouraging step in the right direction," he stated.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Presidential Spokesperson emphasized the significance of the US administration's balanced statements, hoping they will pave the way for a political process grounded in international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative. He acknowledged the unified Arab stance against displacement, crediting it, alongside the steadfastness of the Palestinian people, for influencing the US administration's change in position.
The spokesperson highlighted the importance of continued unified Palestinian-Arab coordination. He described this as a crucial strategic step that could support the Arab vision for Gaza's reconstruction and initiate a political process aimed at establishing the State of Palestine. This vision includes East Jerusalem as its capital and adheres to the 1967 borders, with the goal of achieving security, stability, and prosperity for the region's peoples.
