Post: Polling Concludes for 2026 Local Elections in the West Bank

Al-bireh: The Central Elections Commission - Palestine announced the conclusion of voting for the 2026 local elections in the West Bank, with polling centers closing at exactly 7:00 p.m., while allowing voters already inside to cast their ballots.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the commission stated that the process was conducted calmly and in an organized manner, with no major violations recorded. A total of 512,510 voters participated, representing a turnout rate of 53.44%.

The CEC confirmed that counting and tabulation began immediately inside polling stations, in the presence of electoral list agents, candidates, observers, and journalists. Preliminary results for each station will be posted at polling center doors once counting is completed.

Final compilation and verification of results will take place at the commission's headquarters in Al-Bireh. A press conference is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at the Media Center in Al-Bireh to announce the preliminary results.

Earlier, the Central Elections Commission announced the closure of all 12 polling centers in Deir al-Balah, central Gaza, and the start of counting and tabulation in the presence of observers, electoral list agents, and accredited journalists. The commission reported that voter turnout in Deir al-Balah reached 22.66%, with 15,962 voters casting their ballots out of a total of 70,449 eligible voters.
