PM Mustafa Warns of Famine and Medical Shortages in Gaza in Meeting with Turkiye’s Erdogan

Ankara: President of the Republic of Turkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, received Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammad Mustafa on the sidelines of the 4th Antalya Diplomacy Forum. The meeting was attended by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Palestinian Ambassador to Turkey Faed Mustafa, and Assistant Foreign Minister Ambassador Omar Awadallah.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Prime Minister Mustafa conveyed the greetings of President Mahmoud Abbas to President Erdogan and the Turkish people, expressing appreciation for the strong bilateral relations between the two nations. He commended Turkiye's support for Palestine in international forums and highlighted its humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, including medical treatment of wounded Palestinians and efforts to end aggression against the Palestinian people.

Mustafa emphasized the urgent need for international pressure to halt ongoing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. He warned that the closure of border crossings and obstruction of aid threaten to expand famine and worsen the medicine shortage in the enclave. Additionally, he briefed President Erdogan on the deteriorating situation in the West Bank, particularly citing Israeli occupation army and settler assaults, forced displacement, and destruction in refugee camps.

President Erdogan reiterated Turkey's support for Palestine in international forums, affirming commitment to humanitarian and relief efforts for Gaza, and readiness to assist in reconstruction once aggression ends. He also confirmed Turkiye's support to revive the Palestinian economy and strengthen resilience of the Palestinian people.
