Ramallah: Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, during the weekly Cabinet session on Tuesday, directed all government institutions to intensify their presence and interventions in Palestinian towns and villages, particularly those targeted by Israeli occupation and colonial settler attacks. The aim is to mobilize every possible resource to strengthen citizens' steadfastness and expand government support to alleviate their hardships.
According to Palestine news and Information Agency, the Cabinet, during the session held in Ramallah, warned of the continued deterioration of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. This includes severe shortages of food, fuel, and cooking gas amid a prolonged Israeli blockade, ongoing for more than 1,000 days since Israel's aggression on Gaza and over eight months after a ceasefire was agreed upon.
The Cabinet stressed the urgent need for international intervention, calling on the United Nations and humanitarian organizations to pressure Israel to reopen border crossings and facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid. The focus is on accelerating reconstruction efforts and protecting civilians, especially children, from the worsening crisis.
In the occupied West Bank, the Cabinet highlighted a surge in attacks by Israeli forces and settler militias over the past week, including shootings, road closures, and military incursions. These incidents underscore the volatile security situation in Palestinian territories.
Commending the Ministry of Education's efforts, the Cabinet noted the successful administration of the General Secondary Education Examination (Tawjihi) to over 100,000 students in Gaza, despite the challenges posed by ongoing conflict. The introduction of electronic Tawjihi exams marks a significant step in the digital transformation of education.
The session also included a review of the 2026 Development Projects Priorities Document, which outlines strategic projects in the West Bank, and the approval of the National Cybersecurity Authority's Board of Directors. The Cybersecurity Authority will focus on protecting digital infrastructure and assets.
Additionally, the Cabinet adopted a Draft Decree-Law on Quotas and Commodity Lists to enhance transparency and equal opportunity in quota allocation. A Draft Regulation on the Governance of Health Services Professions was discussed, aiming to regulate professional practices and ensure service access with respect for human dignity.
