Ramallah: According to a report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), a decrease in the number of building licenses in Palestine in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared with the third quarter of 2025, has been noted.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the total number of building licenses issued in the fourth quarter of 2025 decreased by 3% compared with the third quarter of 2025, and increased by 11% compared with the fourth quarter of 2024. At the same time, the number of new building licenses decreased by 7% compared with the third quarter of 2025, while it increased by 31% compared with the fourth quarter of 2024.
A total of 2,120 building licenses were issued in the fourth quarter of 2025, of which 1,354 are new buildings. The area of licensed buildings (residential and non-residential) totaled 1,157 thousand m2, of which new buildings made up 983 thousand m2 and existing buildings comprised 174 thousand m2.
Meanwhile, the total number of licensed dwellings was 4,348 with a total area of 704 thousand m2, of which 3,694 were new dwellings with a total area of 597 thousand m2 and 654 were existing dwellings with a total area of 107 thousand m2. The number of new dwellings in the fourth quarter of 2025 decreased by 3% compared with the third quarter of 2025, while it increased by 22% compared with the fourth quarter of 2024.
