Ramallah: A report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Construction Cost Index (CCI), Road Cost Index (RCI), Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI), and Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank during February 2025 showed a decrease in the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for Residential Buildings.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Construction Cost Index (CCI) for residential buildings in the West Bank reached 121.82, marking a decrease of 0.22% during February 2025 compared with January 2025, with the base year set at 2013. The major groups within the index showed a decrease in equipment rental prices by 0.46% and raw material prices by 0.34%, while labor costs and wages remained stable during the same period.
The report also highlighted that the CCI for non-residential buildings in the West Bank decreased by 0.19%, reaching 120.71 in February 2025 compared to January 2025. Specifically, equipment rental prices fell by 0.52%, and raw material prices decreased by 0.29%, whereas labor costs and wages remained unchanged.
For skeleton buildings, the Construction Cost Index decreased by 0.62%, reaching 120.32 in February 2025 compared to the previous month. In this category, raw material prices dropped by 0.95%, and equipment rental prices decreased by 0.46%, with labor costs and wages remaining stable.
The report further detailed that the overall Road Cost Index (RCI) in the West Bank experienced a slight increase of 0.03%, reaching 116.24 in February 2025 compared to January 2025. Equipment rental prices increased by 0.39%, while raw material prices decreased by 0.13%, with operating costs, maintenance, labor costs, and wages remaining steady.
Additionally, the Water Networks Cost Index (WNCI) showed an increase of 0.32%, reaching 133.55 in February 2025 compared to January 2025. The Water Networks Cost Index specifically rose by 0.81%, while the Water Reservoirs Cost Index decreased by 0.92% during the same period.
Lastly, the overall Sewage Networks Cost Index (SNCI) in the West Bank saw a slight increase of 0.03%, reaching 118.73 in February 2025 compared to the previous month.
