Ramallah: A report by the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) issued on Monday showed a decrease in the Industrial Production Index (IPI) in Palestine during March.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the overall IPI in Palestine reached 78.44 during March 2025, marking a decrease of 2.83% compared to February 2025, using 2019 as the base year.
The report highlighted that the IPI for March 2025 fell due to reductions in specific sectors. The activities of Electricity, Gas, Steam, and Air Conditioning Supply decreased by 3.55%, which represented 7.38% of the total industry. Additionally, the activities of the Manufacturing Industry saw a decline of 3.07%, holding a significant share of 87.89% of the total industry. Mining and Quarrying activities also decreased by 0.87%, with a share of 2.89% of the total industry.
Conversely, the report noted an increase in the activities of Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management, and Remediation by 8.48%, which accounted for 1.84% of the total industry.
