Palestinian Youth Injured by Israeli Gunfire North of Occupied Jerusalem

Al-ram: A Palestinian young man was injured by Israeli occupation forces' gunfire early Sunday morning in the town of Al-Ram, north of occupied Jerusalem. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, its medical crews treated a young man who was shot in the thigh with live ammunition near the Israeli separation wall built on the lands of Al-Ram. He was subsequently transferred to hospital for treatment. The incident occurred near one of the areas where Palestinians often attempt to cross the Israeli-built segregation wall to reach their workplaces inside Israel. Due to the severe restrictions on permits and movement imposed by Israeli authorities, many Palestinian workers from the West Bank are forced to try to access work through informal or unregulated openings in the wall. Israeli forces have frequently used live fire against Palestinians attempting to cross without permits, including workers seeking daily labor to support their families. The segregation wall, which Israel began construc ting in the early 2000s, has been widely criticized by the international community and deemed illegal by the International Court of Justice in a 2004 advisory opinion. The wall has severely impacted Palestinian freedom of movement, access to services, and livelihoods.
