Ramallah: The Palestinian Presidency has issued a warning regarding what it describes as a dangerous escalation by Israeli authorities in Palestinian cities, villages, and refugee camps across the West Bank. The announcement follows the declaration of plans to construct a bypass road around the town of al-Eizariya.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the proposed road aims to separate Palestinian residents, limiting their movement by confining them to segregated routes and restricting access to main roads. This development is part of the E1 settlement project, which officials claim will lead to increased fragmentation and isolation within the occupied West Bank.
Palestinian Presidency spokesperson Nabil Abu Rudeineh emphasized that the policies being pursued by Israeli authorities are contributing to the conflict with the Palestinian people. He warned that these actions could undermine international efforts to de-escalate the situation and held the Israeli government accountable for potential serious repercussions.
Abu Rudeineh appealed to the US administration to step in and urge the occupation authorities to halt these policies, suggesting that such intervention is necessary for the success of President Trump's plan. He also expressed the Palestinian leadership's support for efforts to end hostilities in the Gaza Strip and stop aggression in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, aligning with international law and UN Security Council resolutions.
