Ramallah: Weather conditions across the Palestinian territories are expected to remain hot, with no significant change in temperature, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD). The PMD has indicated that the weather will be hot in most areas, and very hot and dry in regions such as Jericho and the Jordan Valley. Current temperatures are 5-6 degrees Celsius above the seasonal average, accompanied by light winds blowing from the east to southeast, and light sea waves.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency – WAFA, the evening and night will bring partly cloudy to clear skies, providing a more pleasant climate in the mountainous areas and mild conditions in other regions. The winds are expected to remain light, maintaining their east to southeast trajectory, with the sea waves continuing to be light.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, Tuesday, the forecast suggests persistent hot conditions in most areas, particularly in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, where it will remain very hot and dry. Temperatures are anticipated to rise slightly to 6-7 degrees Celsius above the seasonal norm, with light winds from the northeast to southeast. Similarly, light sea waves are expected.
The pattern of hot weather will continue into Wednesday, with most areas experiencing hot conditions, and Jericho and the Jordan Valley facing very hot and dry weather. Temperatures are projected to increase further, reaching 7-8 degrees Celsius above the average. Wind patterns will shift slightly, coming from the southeast to southwest, yet remaining light, with sea waves continuing to be light.
By Thursday, while the hot weather will persist, a slight decrease in temperature is anticipated, though it will still be 6-7 degrees Celsius above the average. The wind direction will be southeasterly to southwesterly, staying light, and sea waves will remain light.
The PMD has issued a warning regarding the potential dangers of direct sun exposure during peak hours, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and has highlighted the risk of fires in areas with dry vegetation.
