Ramallah: The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed on Thursday evening that 37-year-old Mohammad Ali Shtayyeh was shot and killed by Israeli forces near the village of Beit Ur al-Fawqa, west of Ramallah. The incident has raised tensions in the area, where the presence of Israeli forces has been a point of contention.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ministry stated that it had been informed by the General Authority for Civil Affairs about the circumstances surrounding Shtayyeh's death. The young man was reportedly shot dead, and Israeli forces subsequently seized his body, adding to the distress of the local community.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces fired on a vehicle near Beit Ur al-Fawqa. The area around the military checkpoint at the entrance to the village was engulfed in heavy gunfire, further escalating the situation.
