Anza: A young Palestinian man was shot and killed from Israeli gunfire on Wednesday in the village of Anza, south of Jenin, according to local sources. They said the victim, who was identified as Ahmed Jihad Barahmeh, 19, was struck by a bullet in the back and rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition before succumbing to his wounds.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli troops raided the village at around 7:30 a.m., as students were on their way to school. Classes were disrupted and confrontations broke out between residents and the occupying forces. The soldiers seized the home of local resident Ali Bassam Ataya in the center of the village, using it as a military post. They fired live ammunition in various directions, one of which hit Barahmeh, before the troops eventually withdrew from the village.
Earlier in the morning, occupation forces raided several towns and villages south of Jenin, including Ya'bad, Sanur, and Umm Dar, raiding and searching multiple homes.
