Palestinian Injured in Colonist Attack Near Ramallah

Burqa: A Palestinian on Wednesday evening sustained an injury in a colonist attack in Burqa village, east of the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah, according to local sources. They reported that Israeli colonists broke into the village and attacked a villager, inflicting bruises across his body.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the assailants attempted to steal the victim's sheep. Colonists' violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists' violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, and chasing farmers and shepherds. Such acts of violence are part of the ongoing and intensifying attempts by colonists, backed by the Israeli authorities, to forcibly displace Palestinians as part of the larger ethnic cleansing taking place in the West Bank.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
