Washington: Organizations from the Palestinian-American community have launched a political initiative aimed at supporting candidates in the upcoming US congressional elections who advocate for justice and Palestinian rights and oppose the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the initiative seeks to consolidate efforts within the Palestinian community and its allies in the United States to influence the American political landscape and amplify voices calling for an end to violations against Palestinians.
The organizers of the initiative highlighted that the candidates being supported are those who refuse funding from pro-Israel lobbies, most notably the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), and who have taken clear stances against the war in Gaza. The campaign organizers have also urged Palestinian-American organizations to join the initiative and participate in coordination meetings to form a unified political front to advocate for justice and Palestinian rights within American political institutions.
