Palestine Welcomes Slovenia’s Decision to Ban Imports from Israeli Colonies

Ramallah: Palestine welcomed on Thursday Slovenia's decision to ban all imports from Israeli colonies in the occupied territories. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates viewed the decision as a true expression of Slovenia's commitment to international humanitarian law and rejection of Israeli violations against the Palestinian people, including the violations of colonialism, land grab, and forced expulsion.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the ministry expressed gratitude to Slovenia for announcing a new aid package to the Gaza Strip. It regarded this announcement as reflective of Slovenia's moral and humanitarian commitment and as a strong message that values and justice prevail over political interests.

The ministry added that Palestine views Slovenia as a genuine partner engaged in the defense of international law and was looking forward to reinforcing cooperation to bring the Israeli occupation to an end and achieve just and lasting peace, which would enable the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights.

Furthermore, the ministry urged EU member states to follow suit by taking clear and courageous positions, as well as all states to adhere to international law and the UN resolutions. It emphasized the importance of taking all necessary measures to redress the historic injustice imposed upon the Palestinian people, so that Palestinians would live in security, peace, freedom, and dignity.
