Palestine Supports International Efforts for Ceasefire and Reconstruction in Gaza

Ramallah: The State of Palestine has expressed its support for a recent statement issued by several countries, including the United States, Qatar, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Jordan, and Turkey. This statement pertains to the draft Security Council resolution and the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict, initially announced on 29 September and reaffirmed at a meeting in Sharm Al-Sheikh.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the State of Palestine emphasized the significance of establishing a permanent and comprehensive ceasefire. It highlighted the need to expedite the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, ensure the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, and initiate reconstruction efforts that would restore normalcy, protect residents, prevent displacement, and uphold the two-state solution. Additionally, the statement warned against any potential annexation.

The State of Palestine welcomed the statement's recognition of the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent State of Palestine. It stressed the importance of advancing peace, security, and stability between Palestinians and Israelis in alignment with international law and legitimacy.

Moreover, the State of Palestine reiterated its commitment to assuming full responsibilities in the Gaza Strip. It affirmed the unity of its land, people, and institutions, while emphasizing that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the State of Palestine.
