Ramallah: Over 9,300 Palestinians are currently held in Israeli prisons as of the beginning of February 2026. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) provided this information based on data from prisoners' rights organizations and the Israeli Prison Service.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the detainees include 56 female prisoners, with two being minors, and 350 children held in Megiddo and Ofer prisons. The data highlights that the number of administrative detainees, those held without charge or trial, has reached 3,358. This is the highest percentage compared to convicted prisoners, those in pretrial detention, and those classified by Israel as "unlawful combatants."
The statement further reveals that 1,249 individuals are classified as "unlawful combatants." This figure does not encompass all Gaza detainees held in Israeli military camps and also includes Arab detainees from Lebanon and Syria.
