Oman Condemns Israel’s Approval of Law to Execute Palestinian Prisoners

Muscat: The Sultanate of Oman condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of a law to execute prisoners, which it considers a violation of international humanitarian law, particularly regarding the protection of prisoners and detainees.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, a statement issued by Oman's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday denounced any measures that legitimize harming the lives of Palestinian prisoners or diminishing their human rights. The statement emphasized the importance of safeguarding the rights and dignity of prisoners and detainees under international law.

The Sultanate called on the international community to ensure respect for international law, provide the necessary protection for prisoners and detainees, and avoid escalation, in order to achieve regional and international security and stability. The statement highlighted the need for concerted efforts to uphold human rights standards and maintain peace in the region.
