OIC Secretary-General Welcomes New Assistant for Palestinian Affairs

Jeddah: Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), received Ambassador Dr. Dawas Tayseer Dawas at his office today on the occasion of his assumption of duties in his new post as Assistant Secretary-General for Palestinian and Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Affairs. During the meeting, the Secretary-General welcomed Ambassador Dawas, wishing him success in his new role and expressing his confidence that his extensive experience would contribute effectively to strengthening the Organization's efforts in support of the just Palestinian cause.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Ambassador Dawas conveyed President Mahmoud Abbas's greetings to the Secretary-General and his appreciation for the role played by the OIC in defending the causes of the Islamic Ummah, especially the Palestinian cause. Dawas expressed his pride in the confidence placed in him by the Secretary-General and the Organization's member states, affirming his determination to do his utmost to follow up on the implementation of the OIC's resolutions concerning the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds (Jerusalem) and to contribute to mobilizing all forms of support for the rights of the Palestinian people and their just cause.
