Jeddah: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, met with the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine, Ambassador Hadi Shibli, at the OIC General Secretariat. The meeting focused on the latest developments in Palestine, with particular emphasis on the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, Ambassador Shibli informed the Secretary-General about the continued genocide in the Gaza Strip and the violations by the Israeli occupation in the West Bank. The discussions also covered the implications of recent statements by Israeli ministers and officials, who have called for the annexation of the West Bank and the imposition of Israeli sovereignty over the area.
The Secretary-General reaffirmed the Organization's commitment to advocating for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. He also emphasized the need for international protection for the Palestinian people and the importance of mobilizing support for a two-state solution, in line with United Nations resolutions.
