Gaza: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned the Israeli occupation forces' targeting of a journalists' tent in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the killing of one journalist and the injury of several others. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the OIC described this incident as a violation of press freedom and an extension of policies aimed at suppressing truth and preventing international awareness of the situation. The organization held Israeli authorities accountable for the deaths of over 210 journalists and media professionals since the onset of the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The OIC called for the International Criminal Court to expedite investigations into crimes committed by Israel against civilians, including deliberate acts against journalists. It highlighted the ongoing risks faced by journalists, including killings, arrests, and physical assaults related to their professional duties. The OIC urged international institutions, partic ularly UNESCO, to take measures to prosecute those responsible and ensure press freedom and journalist safety in the occupied Palestinian territory, in line with international humanitarian law and agreements.
