Occupation Forces Order Halt of Construction Near Tulkarm

Gaza City: Israeli occupation forces ordered on Monday a halt on the construction of several structures in the village of Shufa, southeast of the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm, according to local sources. They reported that the occupation forces stormed the village and handed over notices to four villagers, ordering them to stop the construction of three houses and a farm, noting that some of the houses were ready to be inhabited.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation forces took measurements of a villager's house, with reports indicating that his son's house is at the imminent risk of demolition. This action follows a previous incident on April 10, when the occupation forces demolished another villager's house in the northern area of the village, citing unlicensed building as the reason.

The village of Shufa has been a frequent target of Israeli settler-colonial activities, aimed at taking over the remainder of the village's land to facilitate the expansion of the nearby Avnei Hefetz colony. As part of these efforts, the occupation forces continually threaten to demolish villagers' homes through demolition notices or by halting construction under pretexts considered fragile by the local population.
