Post: Occupation Authorities Prevent Palestinian Official from International Travel

Jerusalem: Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday barred a Palestinian official from traveling abroad via the Karameh Border Crossing with Jordan. The official, Salah al-Khawaja, who is part of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, was stopped at the crossing, commonly known as the Allenby Bridge or King Hussein Bridge, while on his way to Germany.

According to Palestine news and Information Agency, al-Khawaja was detained for several hours by the authorities before being informed of the travel ban. He was en route to attend a conference organized by the Palestinian-German Friendship Association. The conference was set to feature international events supporting the Palestinian cause, with participation from various countries.

Al-Khawaja's itinerary in Germany included tours and meetings in multiple cities to shed light on the challenges faced by Palestinians under Israeli occupation. His goal was to highlight the violations suffered by the Palestinian people and to gather international support and solidarity for Palestinian rights.

He criticized the travel ban as part of Israel's broader strategy to restrict the movement of Palestinians and prevent them from sharing their perspectives in international forums. Al-Khawaja described the restriction as a breach of international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
