Jerusalem: The Israeli occupation authorities on Friday compelled a Jerusalemite resident to demolish his own home in the East Jerusalem Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan. Jumaa Mohammed Qara'in, the homeowner, undertook the demolition to avoid incurring substantial fines that would have been imposed by the occupation municipality if their crews had carried out the task.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency, the demolished structure comprised two rooms and a bathroom, situated on a plot of land measuring approximately 500 square meters. In addition to tearing down his home, Qara'in was forced to remove trees and dismantle tin sheets that surrounded the property.
