Hebron: The Israeli occupation authorities have implemented a closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron, barring Muslim worshippers from access until Thursday evening.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the occupation authorities have entirely restricted entry to the Ibrahimi Mosque, sealing off its corridors, courtyards, and various sections. This closure is set to last for three days, citing Jewish holidays as the reason.
The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs has condemned this decision, asserting that it represents a blatant violation of freedom of worship and targets the Ibrahimi Mosque systematically. The Ministry has also highlighted the risks posed by the increasing Israeli actions against the Mosque. These actions include repeated prevention of the call to prayer, restriction of worshippers through electronic gates, conducting searches, and hindering the work of the Mosque's staff.
Furthermore, the Ministry has urged the international community and UNESCO to take immediate steps to stop these violations and assaults that threaten the Ibrahimi Mosque's Islamic religious identity.
