Nine Palestinian Citizens Killed in Israeli Shelling Targeting Southern Gaza

Gaza city: Israeli airstrikes and artillery fire killed dozens of Palestinians and wounded many others across the Gaza Strip on Monday, as the ongoing aggression entered its tenth month.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, a medical source at Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis reported that five people were killed and several others injured when Israeli forces opened fire near an aid distribution center north of Rafah, in southern Gaza. The strikes have intensified, targeting various regions within the enclave.

Two Palestinians lost their lives in an Israeli airstrike near Hamad Residential City, northwest of Khan Younis. Additionally, two more individuals, including a child, were killed in a strike on Al-Fawakher Street in central Gaza City. These attacks have further escalated the humanitarian crisis in the region.

At least 35 Palestinians were killed across the enclave since dawn, including 18 in Gaza City and its northern areas, as airstrikes and ground shelling continued. This relentless assault has compounded the suffering of residents who face dire circumstances.

The latest casualties bring the overall death toll since October 7, 2023, to 57,418 Palestinians killed and 136,261 injured, according to the ministry. Thousands of bodies remain trapped under rubble and in the streets, as rescue teams struggle to reach them due to the ongoing shelling and a dire shortage of equipment. The humanitarian situation remains critical, with rescue efforts severely hampered by the constant threat of violence.
