Post: Newborn Dies and Premature Infants Evacuated Amid Hospital Crisis in Gaza

Gaza city: A newborn baby died today at Al-Helou Hospital in the Al-Nasr neighborhood of Gaza City. Medical sources reported that the baby passed away inside the hospital's nursery department. At the same time, three premature infants were evacuated from the hospital to medical centers in the southern Gaza Strip in coordination with the World Health Organization.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, ten premature infants remain in the nursery department at Al-Helou Hospital, with severe difficulty in reaching or leaving the facility. On Monday, the Israeli occupation army besieged Al-Shifa and Al-Helou International hospitals in Gaza City and targeted them with heavy artillery shelling, despite the presence of dozens of patients and displaced people inside. Al-Helou Hospital has been encircled from all sides.

Al-Helou Hospital comprises several departments, including an oncology unit and a nursery. It currently houses more than 90 individuals, including medical staff and patients trapped inside, amid a complete blackout of communications and internet services.
