MoI and Italian Ministry of Defence Renew Agreement on Training Palestinian Security Forces

Jerusalem: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and the Italian Ministry of Defence have renewed their technical cooperation agreement concerning the training of the Palestinian Security Forces (PASF). This significant development took place with the aim of enhancing the capabilities and operational efficiency of the PASF.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the agreement facilitates the provision of both basic and advanced training for PASF personnel. This training will be conducted in collaboration with the Italian Carabinieri team currently operating in Palestine. The agreement was formalized in the presence of the Italian Consul General to Jerusalem, Domenico Bellato.

The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of Major General Mohammad Jabrini, the Security Assistant to the Minister of Interior, and General Andrea Torzani. The areas of training outlined in the agreement include community policing, emergency techniques, public order management, and cultural heritage protection.

This renewed agreement represents a crucial step in strengthening the partnership between the MoI and the Italian Carabinieri. It also underscores the MoI's dedication to developing the PASF's capacities, ultimately aiming to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of its affiliates.
