Ministry of Foreign Affairs Condemns Arson Attack on Mosque by Israeli Colonists

Ramallah: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the arson attack carried out by Israeli colonists on the Hajja Hamida mosque, located between the towns of Kafr Haris and Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry declared that the colonists' crime is a blatant violation of the sanctity of places of worship and a flagrant expression of deep-seated racism under the auspices of the occupying government. The Ministry emphasized that this incident represents a dangerous escalation and a continuation of the systematic Israeli attacks against Palestinians and holy sites.

The Ministry stated that the attack is a reflection of the incitement and extremism policies adopted by the Israeli government, which aim to reshape the religious landscape in the occupied Palestinian territory. The Ministry held the Israeli government fully responsible for this crime and its repercussions, stressing that the impunity of colonists encourages further attacks aimed at displacing Palestinians.

The Ministry urged the international community, including all states and international organizations, to take immediate action to protect places of worship in occupied Palestine. It called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and UNESCO to address these attacks as part of a systematic assault on the Palestinian people and their heritage.

The Ministry affirmed that the State of Palestine will persist in its political, legal, and diplomatic efforts in international forums to hold perpetrators accountable and mobilize support to end the occupation and achieve a just peace based on international law and UN resolutions.
