Lebanon's Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati expressed on Saturday his hope that the war would not expand in the south, stressing Lebanon's adherence to UN Resolution 1701. During a tour of southern Lebanon, Mikati said the tour includes three main stops in the city of Tyre, which hosts headquarters of the South Litani Sector Command of the Lebanese Army and official examination centers for secondary school certificates, in addition to the health emergency room at the Union of Municipalities Center. Mikati called on the Israeli occupation forces to halt repeated attacks on Lebanon and the war in Gaza Strip. Lebanon, since last October, has witnessed continuous military confrontations on a daily basis between the Israeli occupation forces and the Lebanese resistance in the southern Lebanese regions and at the borders with the occupied Palestinian territories.
