Latin Patriarch Says Gaza’s Suffering Will Not Be Forgotten, Vows Commitment to Rebuilding

Gaza city: Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa stressed that what Gaza has endured will not be forgotten, while calling for looking toward the future and reaffirming a commitment to rebuilding homes, schools, and life itself. On Friday, Patriarch Pizzaballa arrived in Gaza City accompanied by the Patriarchal Vicar General Bishop William Shomali and a delegation from the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, as part of the annual Christmas pastoral visit to the Holy Family Church ahead of Christmas according to the Western calendar.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, addressing members of the church, the patriarch said, 'We will not forget what happened, but we look ahead. We will rebuild our homes and schools, and actively work towards restoring the community to its former state.' The visit underscores the church's ongoing commitment to supporting the people of Gaza through these challenging times, emphasizing a message of hope and resilience amid adversity.
