Kuwait city: The State of Kuwait has condemned the Israeli Knesset's approval of a law that permits the execution of Palestinian prisoners, labeling it a clear violation of international laws and norms, specifically those related to international humanitarian law concerning prisoners and detainees.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement describing the law as a dangerous escalation intended to legitimize and entrench systematic killing policies. The ministry emphasized that the law reflects a move toward institutionalizing practices based on racial discrimination, violating the human rights of the Palestinian people and undermining international efforts to promote respect for human rights and achieve justice.
Kuwait also voiced concern about the conditions of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, highlighting serious violations and inhumane practices such as ill-treatment, torture, starvation, and deprivation of basic rights.
The State of Kuwait has urged the international community and the UN Security Council to fulfill their legal and humanitarian responsibilities by implementing deterrent measures to stop these unlawful policies and practices. It called for necessary protection for Palestinian prisoners in accordance with international law and relevant conventions, and demanded accountability for those responsible for crimes against them.
