Journalists’ Syndicate Condemns Killing of Journalist Al-Jaabari and Family in Gaza

Gaza city: The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate announced today that the Israeli occupation has committed a new crime by assassinating journalist Walaa Al-Jaabari. The attack, which targeted her residential apartment in the Tal Al-Hawa neighborhood, southwest of Gaza City, resulted in the death of Al-Jaabari, her husband, and their children.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the syndicate described this act as part of a systematic policy by the Israeli occupation to intimidate and silence journalists by targeting them and their families at home. The syndicate's statement emphasized that the attack was an attempt to suppress the Palestinian media by using violence and fear.

The statement from the syndicate condemned the Israeli occupation for crossing all red lines by not only targeting journalists in the field but also attacking them in their homes. It stressed that these actions aim to extinguish the light of truth and subjugate the media through violence.

The Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate held the Israeli occupation fully responsible for the killing of Walaa Al-Jaabari and her family. It asserted that such crimes would not deter Palestinian journalists but rather strengthen their resolve to fulfill their professional and national duties.

The syndicate called for these acts to be referred to the International Criminal Court, labeling them as war crimes. It urged international journalistic and media organizations to break their silence and stand with the truth, rather than colluding with those responsible for such actions.

"The blood of colleague Walaa Al-Jaabari and her family will remain a living testament to the occupation's criminality," the statement declared, highlighting the ongoing struggle over awareness, narrative, and truth in addition to the physical conflict.
