Gaza city: The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate has condemned the Israeli occupation's killing of journalist Ahmad Abu Eisha, correspondent for Palestine Today TV, in a drone attack in the Gaza Strip, calling it a deliberate and criminal act by the Israeli occupation aimed at silencing the truth.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the syndicate stated that Abu Eisha was directly targeted by Israeli drone fire while standing in front of his home west of Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. He was killed instantly in what the syndicate described as a "clear and deliberate crime against an unarmed journalist fulfilling his professional and national duty."
The syndicate accused Israel of pursuing a calculated policy of targeting journalists and media institutions, which they assert is a direct violation of international humanitarian law. Such laws are designed to guarantee protection for media professionals working in conflict zones.
In response to the incident, the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate called for urgent international action. They urged the International Criminal Court to hold Israeli leaders accountable for crimes against journalists, highlighting the increasing dangers faced by Palestinian journalists. The statement emphasized that these journalists have become targets simply for fulfilling their duty of conveying the truth to the world.
