Washington: King Abdullah II of Jordan on Monday met with United States Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the meeting, held in Washington, DC, focused on the urgent need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
King Abdullah emphasized the importance of resuming the flow of aid to Gaza, highlighting the critical humanitarian needs in the region. He also addressed recent escalations in the West Bank, cautioning against unilateral actions that could further destabilize the situation and lead to violations of Palestinian rights and the sanctity of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
Furthermore, the King underscored the necessity of establishing a political framework aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace. He reiterated Jordan's support for a two-state solution as the basis for resolving the long-standing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
