Jordan: Jordan condemned the Israeli occupation forces' shooting at a diplomatic delegation comprising 25 Arab and European ambassadors and consuls, including the Jordanian ambassador to Ramallah and Arab and foreign journalists, as reported by Jordan's Petra news agency.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the delegation was on a field mission in the occupied Jenin area of the West Bank to evaluate the humanitarian conditions in the embattled city.
Spokesperson of the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Sufian Qudah, stated that the Israeli attack constitutes a violation of international law and international humanitarian law and breaches diplomatic norms. Qudah emphasized that Jordan rejects and condemns the Israeli targeting of diplomats.
Qudah highlighted that the attack violates diplomatic agreements and norms, specifically the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which outlines the procedures and protections for diplomatic missions and grants them immunity.
He urged the international community to take action and pressure Israel to cease its aggression against Gaza and to halt the escalation in the occupied West Bank. He reaffirmed Jordan's support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent, sovereign state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Qudah also called on the international community to stop the crimes against the Palestinian people and ensure accountability for those responsible.
