Jordan and Egypt Reaffirm Commitment to Gaza Reconstruction Without Displacing Palestinians

Cairo: Jordan's Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II met with Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi in Cairo, as reported by a royal court statement. The meeting focused on their shared commitment to rebuilding Gaza while ensuring the non-displacement of Palestinians and discussed ways to bolster bilateral ties and cooperation across multiple sectors. According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Crown Prince Al Hussein emphasized Jordan's support for Egypt's initiatives to rebuild Gaza and highlighted the importance of the upcoming emergency Arab summit in February. The discussions underscored the strong bilateral relationship between the two nations and their mutual concerns regarding regional issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. President Sisi lauded the progress achieved by Jordan under the leadership of its King. The meeting reinforced the shared stance of both countries on the necessity of rebuilding Gaza without causing displacement among its Palestinian inhabitants. Both lead ers stressed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire in Gaza and called for increased aid to the region. Furthermore, they discussed the need for creating a political framework to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, rooted in the two-state solution. This includes establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
