Kobar: For the second week in a row, Israeli forces continue to prevent Palestinian farmers from accessing their lands to harvest olives in the town of Kobar, northwest of Ramallah. Local sources reported that Israeli troops have maintained the closure of an iron gate installed during the conflict in the Gaza Strip, which blocks access to the agricultural lands, thereby hindering the farmers' efforts.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, these forces also detained an elderly man, Fahd Abu al-Hajj, following a verbal altercation between him and the soldiers. This incident is part of a series of actions by the occupation forces, which last week included preventing Palestinians from accessing their lands in Kobar and firing live ammunition towards them.
The situation for olive pickers in the region has been increasingly difficult, with an escalation in attacks by colonists and occupation soldiers. They have been obstructing farmers from harvesting olives and accessing their lands in various areas. The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission has reported monitoring a total of 158 attacks against olive pickers since the start of the current season. Out of these, the occupation army is responsible for 17 attacks, while colonists have carried out 141.
