Jabalia: An Israeli strike on Wednesday evening resulted in the deaths of six Palestinians and left others injured in Jabalia town in the northern Gaza Strip. The attack targeted a charging spot for cell phones, claiming the lives of six civilians and causing serious injuries to others.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Israeli occupation forces ended the Gaza ceasefire agreement unilaterally and resumed aggression on the Strip on Tuesday, March 18. This marked the beginning of a series of airstrikes across the region, leading to the deaths of hundreds of Palestinians. The death toll has reached at least 3,924, with 11,267 others wounded. Within the last 24 hours, Gaza hospitals have admitted 28 slain Palestinians, including five bodies retrieved from the rubble, alongside 179 casualties. These numbers exclude hospitals in the northern Strip.
The renewed aggression has intensified concerns about the worsening humanitarian situation in the Strip, exacerbated by the ongoing siege and restrictions on medical and humanitarian aid. Since October 2023, Israel's military onslaught on the Strip has resulted in the deaths of 54,084 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and injuries to 123,308 others.
Medical sources report that since October 2023, 16,854 children and 20,594 young men have been killed, accounting for 31.5% and 38% of the total death toll, respectively. Additionally, at least 10,000 people are unaccounted for and presumed dead beneath the rubble of their homes.
The Israeli aggression has also led to the displacement of nearly two million people from the Gaza Strip, with the majority forced into the overcrowded southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. This displacement is described as Palestine's largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
