Israeli Minister Forces Palestinian Prisoners to View Gaza Destruction Footage

Tel aviv: The extremist Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, has implemented a controversial measure against Palestinian prisoners by displaying footage of the destruction in the Gaza Strip within the prison walls. This action is intended as a punitive measure, compelling the prisoners to witness the aftermath of the Israeli war on Gaza.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, a video clip capturing Ben-Gvir's visit to an Israeli prison shows him pointing to the images of destruction prominently hung on the walls. During his visit, Ben-Gvir remarked, "This is what the prisoners should see every day," emphasizing his intention for the prisoners to internalize the scenes of devastation.

The visit was documented by Israeli journalist Yinon Magal, who posted a video on X, depicting Ben-Gvir's insistence that the prisoners be confronted with these images. In the video, Ben-Gvir is heard saying, "Look what this is? This is what they (the prisoners) should see every morning on their way to the prison yard." He further added, "This is what they should see. Maybe each one of them can see their home here."

This development follows a recent incident where Ben-Gvir entered the cell of Marwan Barghouti, a prominent Palestinian leader, in Israel's Ramon Prison. During that encounter, Ben-Gvir threatened Barghouti, stating, "Whoever kills our children or women, we will wipe them out. You will not win against us."
