Israeli Forces Target Electricity Transformer in Tulkarem, Cause Widespread Power Outage

Tulkarem: Israeli forces targeted an electricity transformer in the western neighborhood of Tulkarem city on Monday evening, leading to a widespread power outage in multiple areas of the city and its refugee camp.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli snipers, positioned strategically in a building within the western neighborhood, launched heavy fire, hitting the transformer and causing the power disruption. The incident is part of a continued offensive by Israeli forces on Tulkarem city and its camp, which began earlier in the afternoon.

The occupation troops deployed foot patrols throughout various sections of the city, particularly focusing on the western, eastern, southern, and central districts. Additionally, several residents' homes were commandeered and transformed into military outposts and sniper positions. These forces have been firing live ammunition at any moving object in the vicinity.

The ongoing aggression has resulted in considerable damage to the city's infrastructure, affecting water, internet, and electricity networks, along with citizens' properties, including vehicles and commercial establishments. The siege has further extended to healthcare facilities, where Israeli forces have surrounded the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital and Al-Israa Specialized Hospital. This blockade has hindered the movement of ambulances and medical teams, as vehicles undergo inspections and staff face interrogations.
