Hizma: Israeli occupation forces late Wednesday night stormed the town of Hizma, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, hours after their earlier withdrawal. The incursion saw the deployment of stun grenades and tear gas canisters, disrupting the normal operations of commercial shops, and forcing shop owners to close their establishments.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli forces established military checkpoints at the town's entrances, effectively sealing off Hizma and preventing vehicles from entering or leaving. This action left dozens of residents stranded in their cars as they were unable to pass through the checkpoints.
The heightened military presence also led to the suspension of classes in schools throughout Hizma, as authorities aimed to protect students from potential harm amid the tense situation in residential neighborhoods.
Earlier in the day, Israeli forces had withdrawn from the town after a two-day operation that involved a stringent siege, extensive house searches, and severe restrictions on the movement of residents.
