Israeli Forces Storm Hebron Kindergarten, Withhold Nearly 70 Palestinian Children

Hebron: Israeli occupation forces today raided the Martyrs' Street Kindergarten in the closed military zone of central Hebron, briefly detaining more than 70 Palestinian children and several staff members. Zidan al-Sharabati, a local activist, reported that soldiers broke into the kindergarten while a summer camp session was under way, briefly detained 70 children, and held supervisors for questioning. The soldiers also smashed one staff member's mobile during the incursion, spreading panic and fear among the children.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the kindergarten lies inside Hebron's 'H2' area, a sector under full Israeli control that has been sealed off from the rest of the city for more than two years. Residents endure a nightly curfew, restricted movement, and rigid, military-set time slots for entering or leaving their own neighborhoods. Al-Sharabati further affirmed that the camp was intended to entertain children amid the dire and difficult situations they face.
