Israeli forces severely beat five Palestinians south of Nablus

NABLUS: Israeli occupation forces Saturday evening severely beat five Palestinian young men in the course of a raid in al-Lubban ash-Sharqiya village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to local sources.

They said that the gun-toting soldiers physically assaulted the five young men while the latter were on one of the streets in the village.

In the course of the raid, the soldiers deployed in all of the neighbourhoods and alleyways of the village, simultaneously while opening intensive live gunfire, concussion grenades and tear gas canisters.

The soldiers even opened fire towards several vehicles parked in front of the villagers’ houses, causing damage to at least one vehicle, and ordered a driver out of his truck before tossing a tear gas canister inside it.

The occupation forces frequently conduct raids daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for ‘wanted’ Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted with no need for a search warrant, wh
enever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
