Post: Israeli Forces Order Demolition of Buildings Housing Shops and Apartments in Jenin

Gaza: Israeli forces issued demolition notices for three buildings containing 18 commercial shops and two apartments near the village of Anza, south of Jenin. The owners were given only 40 minutes to evacuate before carrying out the demolition.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Hisham Hantouli, the owner of one of the buildings, reported that an Israeli military vehicle arrived at the site and informed the shop owners and residents about the immediate evacuation within 40 minutes. The urgency of the notice left the owners with limited time to clear the premises of their belongings.

Hantouli further mentioned that the case concerning the demolition is still pending in Israeli courts. The building owners had previously obtained an exemption that temporarily halted the demolition order. However, despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the occupation authorities returned and instructed them to evacuate the buildings immediately, disregarding the legal stay.

The shop owners have already started the evacuation process, ensuring that their goods and materials are removed from the shops. Additionally, residents of the two occupied apartments began evacuating their homes, adhering to the orders given by the Israeli forces.
