Jenin: Two young men were killed this Wednesday afternoon by Israeli occupation forces' fire south of Jenin.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the Ministry of Health stated that the General Authority for Civil Affairs had informed it of the killing of two young men. The individuals were identified as Muhammad Omar Zakarneh, 23, and Marouh Yasser Rateb Khuzaymiya, 19. They were reportedly shot by Israeli forces between the village of Masiliya and the town of Qabatiya, south of Jenin.
Earlier in the day, Israeli occupation forces surrounded a cave in the quarry area between Qabatiya and Masiliya, employing heavy Energa bombs and live ammunition. Subsequently, Israeli bulldozers commenced bulldozing the site. Video footage depicted Israeli bulldozers and soldiers mutilating the bodies of the two young men after they were recovered from the cave.
It is noteworthy that the number of slain Palestinians in the town of Qabatiya has reached 34 since October 7, 2023, amid ongoing incursions by Israeli forces and repeated arrest campaigns. Since the end of 2024, the town has experienced four major raids involving military bulldozers, leading to extensive destruction of infrastructure and property. The Ministry of Public Works reported losses nearing NIS8.
This incident occurs as the Israeli occupation army continues its aggression against refugee camps in the northern West Bank since January 21. The operations have resulted in dozens of killings and injuries, detentions, displacement of approximately 40,000 Palestinians, and significant destruction in the Jenin, Tulkarm, and Nur Shams refugee camps.
