Israeli Forces Issue Seizure Notice for Tel Ma’in Archaeological Site in Masafer Yatta

Hebron: Israeli occupation forces on Sunday issued a notice to seize the Tel Ma'in archaeological site in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, reportedly to construct a military tower on the site. Media activist Osama Makhamreh reported that the forces delivered the notice to local residents, claiming control over the area with the support of the Israeli government and extremist minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. The move is cited as a measure for the protection of colonists who continue to raid the site to perform Talmudic prayers.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the land in question belongs to the al-Hamamdeh family and is located just tens of meters from their homes. Residents have expressed concerns that the occupation's policies, alongside the activities of colonists, are aimed at displacing them from the area. The community worries about the implications of the seizure notice and the potential escalation of tensions in the region.
