Tubas: Israeli occupation forces on Sunday issued demolition orders targeting residential and agricultural structures in Atouf, a village situated south of Tubas in the northern West Bank. Local sources reported this development, which affects several families in the area.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Abdullah Besharat, the head of the Atouf Village Council, stated that five families were served notices, compelling them to dismantle their residential and agricultural structures within seven days. This directive follows a series of military decisions approximately two weeks earlier, which resulted in the seizure of about 1,000 dunums of land from residents of Tammun, Tubas, and Khirbet Yarza, located east of Tubas.
The recent land confiscation is intended to facilitate the construction of a colonial road. This road is planned to stretch from the village of Ein Shibli, located east of Nablus, to the Tayasir checkpoint, east of Tubas. The impact of these orders on local communities is yet to be fully realized, as families face imminent displacement and the loss of their resources.
