Israeli Forces Issue Demolition Notices for 50 Shops in al-Eizariya

Jerusalem: Israeli forces on Wednesday notified the demolition of around 50 commercial shops and structures in the town of al-Eizariya, southeast of Jerusalem. Local sources reported that Israeli troops stormed the town and issued verbal notices ordering owners to carry out self-demolition of the properties located at the town's entrance, giving them a deadline until next Sunday. The move is seen as a step toward implementing the E1 settlement plan in the area.

According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, Israeli authorities have threatened to demolish the structures and their contents if evacuation orders are not complied with within the specified deadline. This measure comes despite appeals submitted to the Israeli court against the demolition orders, which are scheduled to be decided in mid-May.

The shops are at risk of removal as part of a plan to construct the "Fabric of Life" road in the area. This is part of a series of measures implemented by Israeli authorities against Palestinian properties in Jerusalem.
