Qalqilya: Israeli occupation forces intensified military measures around Qalqilya on Wednesday morning, severely impeding the movement of residents. Eyewitnesses reported significant disruptions as the Israeli troops established a military checkpoint at the southern entrance of the city, effectively preventing residents from entering or leaving.
According to Palestine News and Information Agency - WAFA, the eastern entrance to Qalqilya was also closed to outgoing traffic using an iron gate. This action was compounded by the establishment of a checkpoint to inspect those entering the city, resulting in a severe traffic jam and further hindering daily life for Palestinians in the area.
In a related incident, occupation forces conducted a raid in the Al-Hasamis agricultural area east of Qalqilya, disrupting the work of farmers by stopping and interrogating them. This escalation in military presence has raised concerns among local residents and disrupted agricultural activities crucial for the community's livelihood.
Furthermore, occupation vehicles patrolled the town of Azzun and the village of Asla, east of Qalqilya, and were deployed along the Qalqilya-Nablus road. Despite these increased military activities, no arrests have been reported.
